Changes to Google’s Privacy Policy

Today (1 March) is the day that Google’s new privacy policy becomes effective.

The aim of the change is to simplify over 60 different privacy policies across Google and replace them with a shorter, simpler and easier to understand version.   As Google says ” Our new policy covers multiple products and features, reflecting our desire to create one beautifully simple and intuitive experience across Google”.

A more detailed version of the privacy policy is available here.

A point to note about this new policy is that if you choose to continue using Google once the change comes into effect you will be doing so under the new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

So if you use any of Google’s sites or services (YouTube, Blogger, Adwords etc.) it’s well worth checking this out and making sure you are happy with how your data is viewed, used and shared.
