Get compliant or risk a fine because the web is no longer the law free environment it once was.

Many websites are not compliant with the current law and are therefore or in breach of the Companies Act and risk a fine

Here is just some of the the Information that must be on your website to stay on the right side of the law.

You must display your company name,

geographic address and email address.

Even if you include a 'contact us' form you still need to provide an email address

The company's registration number must be displayed

If the company has a VAT number, that should be stated too, whetether or not the website has e-commerce functionality.

In addition, the Companies Act requires that all marketing emails sent by a corporation must include:

company registration number
place of registration
registered office address

Needless to say it is an offence to send an email where the identity of the person or organisation on whose behalf the email is being sent has been disguised or concealed. In addition, in most cases you must get consent before sending emails.
